Boy killed by moving train

Quetta:A train hit and killed a boy in Sibi District of Balochistan.

According to details, a boy Sujala Khan son of Mian Khan was going home on motorcycle when it was hit by Akbar Express near Sibi Bypass as he was crossing an open railway crossing.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Sibi.

PM Veterinary doctors demand jobs

Quetta:The Provincial government should create 1600 vacancies for unemployed veterinary doctors in Livestock and Dairy Development Department, demanded protesting veterinary doctors.

As per details, in support of their demands, a protest demonstration of Balochistan Berozgar Veterinary Doctors Association was held in front of Quetta Press Club here on Wednesday.

Addressing the protestors, Dr Humayoon Kakar President Balochistan Berozgar Veterinary Doctor Association (BBYDA) said that Livestock plays a vital role in earning revenue for the province, but many highly qualified livestock degree holders were unemployed.

The protestors called for creating new vacancies so that unemployed youth could be adjusted. They demanded of Advisor to Chief Minister for Livestock, Mita Khan Kakar, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Secretary Livestock Department and Director General, Livestock to take immediate steps for the creation of new slots in order that unemployment could be finished.

Trainer aircraft crashes near Mastung

Quetta:A trainer aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed in Mastung and its pilot embraced martyrdom.

According to levies sources, a F-7 PG aircraft was on its training mission when it crashed in an open field at Kudkhuca, an area some 20 miles away from Mastung.

Spokesman of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) confirmed the incident and said that pilot of the aircraft Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Tahir Akbar embraced martyrdom. Soon after the incident, personnel of Frontier Corps (FC), Levies and PAF reached the site. Personnel of PAF took into custody the debris of crashed aircraft.

According to spokesman of PAF, a board of Inquiry has been ordered by PAF Headquarter to determine the cause of accident.

Smuggled diesel recovered

QUETTA:Customs in different actions against confiscated one truck and four tankers loaded with smuggled Iranian diesel at Quetta and Kolpur check points.

According to customs authorities, four tankers, going to Dera Ismail Khan, were stopped at Beleli check post Quetta and during checking 96000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel were recovered.

The value of recovered oil is two Crores and sixty Lakhs rupees.

While in another action, Customs authorities at Lak Pass check post recovered 30000 litres Iranian diesel.

Investigation in both the actions was started.

Three miners dead in Duki coalmine collapse

Quetta:Three miners died in a coalmine mishap at Duki on Monday.

As per details, accumulated gas exploded in a coalmine at District Duki, which collapsed. As a result, three miners died and others 19 miners became unconscious.

According to SHO Ibrar Hussain, one side of coal mine collapsed due to explosion and four miners came under debris. The depth of coal mine was 1700 feet and majority of miners working there belonged to Afghanistan.

The victims included two real brothers and their uncle.

After a lapse of 24 hours of the incident, the rescue team of Mines and Minerals Development Department could not reach the site; however, one Inspector and one clerk of the said Department remained present at the site.

After the incident, local mine workers started rescue operation. Two miners Abdul Ghani son of Speen, caste Samalzai resident of Zabul Afghanistan and Muhammad Umer son of Abdul Shakoor caste Samalzai resident of Zabul Afghanistan, who were busy in rescue operation, also died.

However, four miners were trapped miners, and the dead body of one of them, Abdul Manan, son of Muhammad Essa, caste Malakhail resident of Killi Zaman was recovered.

19 other miners became unconscious in the explosion. Among the unconscious included Dilbar son of Syed Hussain, Qudratullah son of Haider, Muhammad Wali son of Abdul Rauf, Sarwar Ghulam Siddique, Shair Muhammad son Khan Muhammad, Noorani son of Abdul Shafey, Muslim, Nasrullah son of Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad Raheem son of Muhammad Fazal, Muhammad Alam son of Qabil, Abdul Ghaffar son of Taj Muhammad, Abdul Malik son of Abdul Raziq, Safiullah son of Zakarya and Alizai son of Muhammad Siddique.

The bodies and injured miners were shifted to Civil Hospital Duki.

Frontier Corps Balochistan, Levies and volunteers were taking part in rescue operation.

It is pertinent to mention that during the year 2018, as many as 26 miners died while 84 injured in different accidents in coalmines at Duki. During the first 21 days of 2019, 17 coal miners have already in different incidents.

Torrential rains in Balochistan

Quetta:Different areas of Balochistan including Quetta received torrential rains on Sunday.

Mountains of Quetta city were covered with snow. Rains created happiness in people after a prolonged drought.

Pishin, Loralai, Duki, Sibi, Khuzdar, Zhob, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Shaheed Sikandar Abad, Kharan and Kalat also received rains.

However, Quetta, its adjoining areas Valley Hanna Urak, Hanna Lake, Ziarat, Chaman, Kan Mehterzai, Muslim Bagh, Sanjawi and Killa Saifullah received rains and snowfall.

Pasni received 28 mm rain, Ormara 10 while Quetta received 8 mm.

Rains exposed poor cleanliness arrangements in Quetta city. Many sewerage lines were clogged. Dirty water accumulated on roads and streets, making it difficult for people to walk.

In Interior Balochistan, due to torrential rains, low laying area came under water while canals overflowed. Roads became slippery, thus, many vehicles and motorcycles faced accident injuring many people.

After rains and snowfall, weather became cold.

According to Met office, at Ziarat the lowest temperature of 2 degree centigrade was recorded. Minimum temperature at Zhob was 2 degree, Quetta 4, Panjgur and Kalat 5 and 6 degree centigrade, respectively.

The highest temperature of 27.5 was recorded at Gwadar and Turbat.

Met office has predicted more rains and snowfall during the next 24 hours in different places of Balochistan such as Quetta, Kalat, Mekran, Zhob, Sibi and Naseerabad.

Four injured in Khuzdar mishap

Quetta:Two vehicles collided at Chakoo area near Khuzdar and four people sustained injuries.

The injured were reported belonged from Quetta. They included Haroon son of Obaidullah, Khatija wife of Obaidullah, Noor Muhammad and Muhammad Usman.

They were rushed to local hospital.
