SUSHI: Sushi is a Japanese dish of specially prepared vinegar rice (sushi-meshi), usually with some sugar and salt, combined with a variety of ingredients such as seafood, vegetables and occasionally tropical fruits. Styles of Sushi and its presentation vary widely, but the key ingredient is “sushi rice”, also referred to as shari or sumeshi. The term sushi is no longer used in its original context and literally means “sour-tasting”.

Sushi can be prepared with brown rice, but traditionally it is made with medium grain white rice. It is often prepared with raw seafood, but some varieties of sushi use cooked ingredients such as calamari, eel, and imitation crab meat. Many others are vegetarian. Sushi is often served with pickled ginger (gari), wasabi (not to be confused with horseradish paste), and soy sauce (or tamari). Daikon radish is popular as a garnish.

Rewards for Justice – Reward Offer for Information on Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and Factions Key Leaders

Washington, March 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): The U.S. Department of State’s Rewards for Justice Program is offering rewards for information leading to the identification or location of three key leaders associated with the terrorist organization Tehrik–e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and affiliated factions. The Department is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on TTP leader Maulana Fazlullah, and up to $3 million each for information on Abdul Wali and Mangal Bagh.

Maulana Fazlullah is the leader of the TTP, a terrorist organization that has claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist acts against Pakistani and U.S. interests, including the failed attempt by Faisal Shahzad to detonate an explosive device in New York City’s Times Square on May 1, 2010. Under his leadership, the TTP has also claimed responsibility for the December 16, 2014, attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan in which gunmen killed 148 people, including 132 students.

Fazlullah also is responsible for the June 2012 beheading of 17 Pakistani soldiers, and the October 9, 2012, shooting of Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai. In 2015, the Department designated Fazlullah as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Executive Order 13224, which freezes all of his assets based in the United States or in possession or control of U.S. persons.

Abdul Wali is the leader of Jamaat ul-Ahrar (JUA), a militant faction affiliated with TTP. Under Wali’s leadership, JUA has staged multiple attacks in the region targeting civilians, religious minorities, military personnel, and law enforcement, and was responsible for the killing of two Pakistani employees of the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar in early March 2016.

Mangal Bagh is the leader of Lashkar-e-Islam, a militant faction affiliated with TTP. Under his leadership, LeI operatives have attacked NATO convoys. His group generates revenue from drug trafficking, smuggling, kidnapping, and collection of “taxes” on transit trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. In September 2007, the Government of Pakistan announced a reward offer of about $60,000 for the capture of, or information leading to the arrest of, Mangal Bagh.

Each of these individuals is believed to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, acts of terrorism that threaten the security of the United States and its nationals. In addition to opposing the Pakistani military, one of TTP’s stated goals is the expulsion of Coalition troops from Afghanistan. The group has demonstrated a close alliance with al-Qa’ida, and, since 2008, has also repeatedly publicly threatened to attack the U.S. homeland.

More information about these reward offers is located on the Rewards for Justice Website at www.rewardsforjustice.net. We encourage anyone with information on these individuals to contact the Rewards for Justice Office via the website, e-mail (info@rewardsforjustice.net), phone (1-800-877-3927 in North America), or mail (Rewards for Justice, Washington, D.C., 20520-0303, USA). Individuals may also contact the Regional Security Office at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

The Rewards for Justice Program is administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service. Since its inception in 1984, the program has paid in excess of $145 million to more than 90 people who provided actionable information that helped bring terrorists to justice or prevented acts of international terrorism worldwide. A delegation of US journalists called on Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry

Washington, March 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): An eight member delegation of US Journalists called on Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry before leaving for Pakistan on a week-long trip. The visit has been organized by International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ) Washington DC. While talking to the delegation of US journalists, Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry said that to correct misplaced perception about Pakistan, there is a need to have a renewed look at Pakistan in changed circumstances. Pakistan has achieved unprecedented success in combating terrorism and security situation has improved tremendously. These successes on security front have led to economic progress, he added.

Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry briefed the US journalists, who belong to various media organizations in different States about the tremendous sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and the tangible results achieved on ground. After successful military operations that have helped in clearing all troubled areas, we have already started socio-economic development work in these areas.

The results of counter terrorism operations have salutary impact on our economy as all major economic indicators are showing upward trends. Investment is also flowing in Pakistan from many countries in the world including the US, particularly for a large number of projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Ambassador Chaudhry reiterated that Pakistan has unwavering commitment to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Pakistan would not let its soil be used to launch or even plan attack against any other country in the region. Responding to a question about the current state of Pakistan-US bilateral relations, Ambassador Chaudhry said that both Pakistan and USA have always benefitted when they worked together and we are hopeful to continue working together in future as well.

Referring to a situation in Afghanistan, Ambassador Chaudhry remarked that peace in Afghanistan is imperative not only for Pakistan and Afghanistan but also for the peace in South Asia. History bears testimony to the fact that instability in Afghanistan always has a spillover effect in other countries of the region particularly Pakistan. Pakistan will continue to play its role along with other partners in finding out a political solution of the Afghan issue. However, Pakistan generally believes that the peace process shall be Afghan owned and Afghan led, involving all stakeholders.

Ambassador Chaudhry appreciated the efforts of International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ) in organizing Journalist exchange programs, sponsored by the US State Department. ICFJ takes American journalists to Pakistan and invites Pakistani Journalists to the US on regular basis. Such exchange initiatives promote harmony and better understanding about different cultures and faiths and bring people from both the countries closer to each other, he concluded.
