CM Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan meets Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa

Rawalpindi, December 29, 2018 (PPI-OT): CM Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan met Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa today. Security situation in the province was discussed during the meeting. CM Balochistan appreciated efforts of Pak Army towards provision of enabling security environment for execution of socio-economic development projects as part of Khushal Balochistan program.

COAS said that maintaining security situation of Balochistan is focus of Pak Army. COAS said that progress of Pakistan is linked to peace, stability and progress of Balochistan. Fencing of Pak-Afghan border and enhanced security coordination on Pak-Iran border shall further improve the security situation.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff visits Mujahid Force Centre at Bhimber

Rawalpindi, December 28, 2018 (PPI-OT): General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Mujahid Force Centre at Bhimber. COAS installed Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar as Colonel Commandant of Mujahid Force. A large number of serving / retired officers including from Mujahid Force were present at the occasion. Later while interacting with Officers and soldiers of Mujahid Force, COAS appreciated contributions and sacrifices of Mujahid Force particularly along the Line of Control.

General Austin Scott Miller, Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff at GHQ, today

Rawalpindi, December 27, 2018 (PPI-OT): General Austin Scott Miller, Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, today. During the meeting matters of mutual interest with particular reference to regional security and ongoing Afghan reconciliation process were discussed.

Both expressed unanimity of views on importance of political resolution of Afghan situation and underlined that only an Afghan owned and Afghan led inclusive process can lead to peace in Afghanistan. They also reaffirmed the need for continuing harmonized efforts against terrorists and for effective border management. COAS said that Pakistan is committed to efforts for peace in Afghanistan as it is important for peace in Pakistan.

H.E Mr Alexey Yurevish Dedov, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff

Rawalpindi, December 27, 2018 (PPI-OT): H.E Mr Alexey Yurevish Dedov, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS). Matters related to regional security and bilateral cooperation were discussed.

Later the visiting dignitary conferred Order of Friendship, Medal for Courage in Salvation and Medal for the Common Wealth in Rescue to ten officers and two soldiers of Pakistan Army in recognition of their cooperation, commitment and audacity during search and rescue operation at Latok-1 to rescue Russian Mountaineer Alexander Gukov from 20650 feet AMSL in July 2018.

The Rescue mission, spanned over 6 days, was carried out by Army Aviation under most hostile and challenging conditions. Russian Ambassador also presented Medal for the Common Wealth in Rescue and Letter of Commendation of Russian Mountaineering Federation to COAS.

Rawalpindi, December 25, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa joined Christian community at Christ Church, Rawalpindi to take part in Christmas Celebrations. The congregation welcomed COAS and thanked him for sharing the festivity. COAS wished Merry Christmas to entire Christian community in Pakistan.

He acknowledged role of Christian brethren not only towards creation of Pakistan but also for their contributions towards its progress. He appreciated role of various institutions in the fields of education, health and public welfare being managed by Christian community across Pakistan. He especially acknowledged their contributions in defence of motherland as part of Pakistan Armed Forces.

The event is aimed at promoting healthy physical activities and sport culture for youth. The event included games of Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Badminton and Marathon race. More than 3500 students, both girls and boys, belonging to remote areas of Khuzdar Distt participated with zeal and enthusiasm.
