China Unveils Advanced Humanoid Robots to Global Delegation in Wuhan

China showcased its rapidly advancing humanoid robotics capabilities to a global delegation on Tuesday, unveiling a new innovation hub where agile machines run, jump, and prepare for deployment in hospitals and factories, signaling the nation’s ambitious push to dominate the future of embodied intelligence.

A 21-member group of political spokespersons and senior communicators from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America visited the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in Wuhan’s Optics Valley. The tour was part of a multi-city study program organized by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) to provide firsthand exposure to the country’s technological progress.

Established in June 2025, the 7,000-square-meter facility is a comprehensive platform for humanoid robotics. It integrates research, development, testing, and real-world applications for the next generation of intelligent automatons.

During the visit, participants observed live demonstrations of domestically developed humanoid units. These included high-payload industrial models, nimble bipedal robots capable of dynamic movement, and service-oriented units designed for roles in healthcare, tourism, and emergency response.

Experts at the center briefed the international attendees on Hubei’s burgeoning robotics ecosystem, which now comprises more than 80 core enterprises. This growth is supported by an ambitious three-year action plan backed by a substantial 10-billion-yuan investment fund.

The showcase highlighted how China is leveraging its strengths in artificial intelligence and manufacturing supply chains to secure a leading position in embodied intelligence. Practical deployments of these advanced systems are already beginning to materialize across various sectors, including manufacturing, medical facilities, and public services.

Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and leader of the delegation, described the experience as “a glimpse into the future of intelligent manufacturing and human-robot collaboration.” He noted that these “innovations will reshape economies and create new opportunities for cooperation across the Global South.”

The tour of the robotics center is a key component of the delegation’s wider engagement, which also focuses on China’s high-tech development model and ecological advancement initiatives.
