Chinese Agriculture University awards scholarships to 20 IUB students

MULTAN: The Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU), China, awards scholarships to 20-students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, who previously applied for PhD studies at SAU.

 

According to the details Sichuan Agricultural University, China, had announced 20 scholarships yearly for the students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur through an MoU recently signed by both universities.

 

Yesterday, the Sichuan Agricultural University announced the award of scholarship to all 20 students who applied through this joint academic program of both universities. These scholarships worth Rs. 80 million, which will be provided by the Sichuan Agricultural University to the students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

 

Prof Dr Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor has termed this development a historic achievement paving the way for brilliant students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to pursue higher studies in a top ranked foreign University. He also offered special thanks to the management of the Sichuan Agricultural University for showing great benevolence and announcing 20 scholarships on yearly basis for students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on the occasion of 70th anniversary of Sino-Pak diplomatic ties further strengthening the relations between the two great neighboring nations.

 

He also praised the efforts of Dr Muhammad Ali Raza who worked hard to materialize scholarships program, faculty and students exchange and joint research endeavors for both universities.

 

The students selected for PhD scholarships include Hafiz Muhammad Faisal, Muhammad Juniad Jalil, Sajid Sharif, Saira Rafique, Komal Nawal, Abida Parveen, Sameera Anwar, Muhammad Amir Shehzad, Sunaira Abbas, Saman Khalid, Asma Atta, Sana Munir, Rabia Tahir, Anabat Bin Sohail, Khalid Waleed, Saim Naeem, Shafiq ur Rehman, Atiqa Najeeb, Misbah Aslam and Mamoona Zafar.

 

In this connection a meeting of the PhD scholarship winners for Sichuan Agricultural University China held at the VC office today. The Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Athar Mahboob guided the students regarding the PhD studies in Chinese university. The Vice Chancellor explained his vision about doctoral studies at an international university.

 

He urged the students to concentrate their full attention on their studies and prove themselves as the true representatives of Pakistan as well as IUB. The students thanked the Vice Chancellor for signing an MoU with the Chinese university and ultimately providing them with the best learning opportunity.

 

At this occasion Dr Abid Shahzad, Director International Linkages and Dr Muhammad Ali Raza presented the future plans with the Sichuan agricultural university. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the both for the uplifting of IUB at the international level.
