KARACHI:On the direction of Managing Director Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, Zubair Channa, Chinese company Changi Kanji has added three wheeler rickshaws in South Saddar Zone and Lyari Zone to further improve the arrangements for door-to-door garbage collection.
According to the details, a total of 96 rickshaws will be assigned to pick up garbage from house to house in all USCs while a team with rickshaws and machinery has also been formed for redress grievances. Executive Director Tariq Nizamani and officials of the Chinese company were present on the occasion.
Zubair Channa, MD, Solid Waste, said that the process of door-to-door collection of garbage from every UC was being ensured and continuous steps were being taken in this regard. The number of rickshaws was also increased for the eastern district last week. Monitoring and redress of grievances are being ensured on a daily basis to improve the quality of sanitation. “Providing a clean environment to the people is our priority,” he said.
