Christian community protest for draining out rainwater from their cemetery

Larkana: Stagnant rainwater from the Christian community cemetery has not yet been drained out despite passage of about one month and stolen gate has not yet been recovered by Larkana police due to which unrest is felt among them.

The community members held a large protest demonstration here on Friday demanding recovery of the stolen main gate of the cemetery and dewatering rainwater.

Their leaders including Chairman Hakoomat Baig, Vice Chairman Khushi Patras Masih, Chaudhry Masih, Yousaf Micheal, Pervaiz Michel, Naeem Khushi and others complained that about a month has passed but the monsoon rainwater has not yet been drained out of their cemetery which was gifted by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto despite repeated complaints to the district and taluka administration and municipal authorities. They said that the main gate of the cemetery worth Rs 130,000 has been stolen which has also not yet been recovered despite lodging a report with the police.

They urged top PPP leadership, district administration, DIGP and SSP Larkana to to take notice of the highhandedness and ensure draining rainwater, recover stolen gate and other material and end unrest among them or else, they warned, they will again come out on roads for provision of safety to their community.
