Citizens forced to commit suicide and sell children due to government failures, Muslim League Functional

Pakistan Muslim League Functional Sindh’s Secretary General Sardar Abdul Rahim has said that people are being forced to take desperate measures like selling their children and committing suicide due to the government’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Sardar Abdul Rahim said that the rulers’ rosy statements do not match the real situation, where the ground realities are completely different from the official claims regarding human rights.

He maintained that human rights laws are not implemented in Pakistan, and the law is only enforced against the poor, while the rich are considered above it.

Rahim said that individuals who demand their rights are dragged on the streets and subjected to humiliation. He added that instead of being given their rights, women also face humiliation.

Describing the act of putting innocent children in jails as the worst violation of human rights, Rahim also highlighted that the sanctity of the home and the right to privacy are mercilessly violated.

He observed that in a civilized society, thousands of people are not left to spend their nights on streets and footpaths.

Rahim concluded by saying that the time has come for equality and justice to be practically implemented in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan.
