LARKANA:As many as 17 petrol pumps established along Larkana-Ratodero Motorway were detected illegal by the National Highway Authority (NHA) here on Wednesday.
Basharat Ali Mangi, NHA Deputy Director (Maintenance) told media today. He said notices had been issued to the owners of those petrol pumps prior to the action to produce NOC issued by the NHA or the proof that the land where they had established pumps belonged to them but none of them complied with the instructions, hence, all 17 pumps were determined unlawfully established on NHA land.
He said that at the very outset, long ditches had been made with the help of heavy machinery and local police had blocked the entry of all the vehicles to those pumps. Mangi said if ditches were closed or filled with mud, then FIRs would be registered against the pump owners. He said the legal way of obtaining NOC was to comply with NHA rules or else the owners would be taken to task legally.
