Climate change caused by human activities threatens environmental and agricultural future

The Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tando Jam, Engineer Professor Dr. Altaf Ali Sial, has warned about the imminent threat of human-induced climate change, stating that Pakistan faces severe environmental and agricultural challenges unless immediate and decisive action is taken.

Professor Sial emphasized that climate change is primarily a result of human activities, and the solution to these problems also lies entirely in human hands. He stressed the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to mitigate these threats.

He expressed these concerns today during a program held at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology at Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam. This gathering was organized in commemoration of Green Earth Action Day 2026.

This important program was jointly organized with the cooperation of Green Earth Action Foundation (GEAF) and Root to Rise. Its overall theme was “Threads of Change: Empowering Youth and Women for a Plastic-Free Pakistan”.

The Vice Chancellor’s statements made it clear that if immediate and effective intervention is not made, Sindh and other parts of the country could face profound environmental and agricultural problems in the very near future.
