CM assures early solution to private universities’ problems

LAHORE: Chairman Association of Private Sector Universities Prof Dr Ch Abdul Rehman called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar to discuss problems and higher education reforms. It was agreed to call the meeting of the higher education reforms committee.

 

According to CM office information on Thursday, the CM assured to early resolve the problems being faced by the private universities adding that the provision of the facility of one window operation is being reviewed for the private universities. Private educational institutions have an important role to play and every effort will be made to resolve the problems of private sector universities, he added.

 

Ch Abdul Rehman appreciated the role played by CM Usman Buzdar for the promotion of higher education and added that the cooperation and efforts made by the incumbent government are praiseworthy.

 

Buzdar for Corona SOPs

 

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to strictly follow the Corona SOPs and said that the restriction on wearing the mask and social distancing should strictly be enforced in Ramadan bazaars. Mask is of utmost necessary to deal with the Covid-19. Usman Buzdar urged to avoid the rush in Ramzan bazaars in wake of the recent wave of corona. He said that people should come to Ramadan bazaars wearing masks and observe the social distance. He further maintained that restriction of masks and social distance should be ensured in markets as well as legal action should be taken against the violation of corona SOPs.

 

Sulaiman calls CM

 

Punjab Ombudsman Major Retd Azam Sulaiman called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and presented him annual report as well as apprised him about the performance and other affairs of the institution. The chief minister said that PTI believes in transparency and merit in government affairs. Corruption, irregularities and negligence cannot be tolerated. The process of accountability and monitoring should be improved and made more efficient. He said that equality cannot be ensured without bringing transparency in government affairs. He further stated that the role of the ombudsman’s office is of great importance for the redressal of public grievances. He directed that public servants should resolve people’s problems on merit.
