She received a guard of honour and distributed prizes to top performers from the Police Training College, while also inspecting the parade as the chief guest.

In her address to the ceremony, Maryam expressed her government’s aspiration to bolster the presence of female officers within the police department. “I realized how much of a big responsibility it is after wearing the police uniform,” she remarked.

She commended women in uniform and voiced hope for their dedicated service to the public, underscoring the indispensable role of the rule of law in societal progress.

Accompanying her at the ceremony was Punjab Inspector General Usman Anwar. The presence of a political leader in police attire at such an event underscores a symbolic gesture toward law enforcement and gender inclusivity within the force.
