Chairman of Nizam-e-Mustafa Party and former Federal Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab, has expressed concern over the increasing incidents of child abuse and sexual harassment in educational institutions and professional environments, with women being particularly affected. He strongly condemned these incidents and emphasized collective responsibility for preventing such crimes.
Dr. Tayyab appealed to the federal and provincial authorities to consult with religious leaders and the Council of Islamic Ideology against the growing immoral behavior. He emphasized the importance of Islamic teachings, which encourage modesty and forbid obscenity, quoting, “Modesty is half of faith.”
The former minister criticized the negative impacts of television advertisements, dramas, films, and online platforms promoting obscenity. He expressed concern over the government’s alleged lack of interest in curbing this trend.
Dr. Tayyab urged religious scholars to educate the public about the benefits of modesty and the harms of obscenity in this world and the hereafter, in light of Islamic teachings.
