Continued use of pellet guns in IOK condemned

Srinagar, August 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Pellet Victims Association (PVA) has strongly condemned the continued use of pellet guns and deadly weapons by the Indian forces against the peaceful demonstrations across the Kashmir valley.

The spokesman of the Association, Junaid Ahmed, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Many youth can’t see, as pellets have pierced optic nerve of both eyes and are struggling for recovery of their eyesight in different hospitals.

He said, “From last few weeks, dozens of youth injured with pellets are facing immense hardship. He expressed solidarity with the pellet victims and prayed for their speedy recovery. He urged the world rights organizations to take strong note over the use of pellet guns and deadly weapons against peaceful demonstrations in Kashmir.

“No crowd control mechanism has been established. Pellet and other deadly weapons are used against innocent unarmed civilians, which have claimed lives of many and blinded hundreds of youth including students,” Junaid informed. He demanded immediate ban on use of pellet guns and other fatal weapons against peaceful protesters.
