LARKANA: Contractor Shabir Abbasi of Larkana has alleged that the present Medical Superintendent, Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) demanded 7 to 8 millions rupees to clear my outstanding dues of diet amounting to Rs70 million.
While addressing press conference at the Larkana Press Club, he further alleged that Rs60 crore tender was opened at Ojha Campus of the Dow University on 31st May for supply of CT Scan, digital x ray, furniture and other machinery but the orders were placed with large companies who have also been paid advance payment of Rs54 crore and the supply is yet to be made.
He said he has already filed a complaint against Dr. Gulzar Tunio, District Accounts Officer and others due to which they are constantly threatening me to withdraw the complaint or else my diet dues will not be paid. He further alleged that Dr. Tunio intends to award diet order to his own contractor relative Mujeeb Tunio in violation of SPPRA rules who is known for adulteration in milk and other items.
He urged the higher provincial and federal government authorities to take notice of the malpractice, corruption and nepotism in CMCH by abolishing tenders and order for re-tender so that taxpayers’ hard earned money could be saved.
When contacted Dr. Gulzar Tunio rejected the allegations vehemently and said that contractor Shabir Abbasi is trying to blackmail me and wanted to sign his fake bills which I have refused. He said the same contractor also filed a complaint in SPPRA against CMCH which has been rejected. He said that he has become habitual of fake bills but the time has gone now.
