Country-wide power failure: Seven officers suspended over negligence

LARKANA:The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Central Power Generation Company Ltd, (CPGCL), Guddu, Engr Hammad Amar Hashmi, through an office order issued on Sunday, has placed services of seven officers under suspension with immediate effect and until further orders over a negligence in the duty which caused electricity failure across the country.

They were found negligent in view of preliminary inquiry, which, according to the office order, amounts to misconduct in accordance with Efficiency and Discipline (E and D) Rules 1978.

These Officers include Suhail Ahmed, Additional Plant Manager (ARE Operation/Shift), Deedar Ali Channa Junior Engineer (Shift Engineer), Ali Hassan Golo Foreman (CCR), Ayaz Hussain Dahar and Saeed Ahmed, Operators, (220 KV Relay Room), Siraj Ahmed Memon and Ilyas Ahmed, and Attendants (220 KV ECR).

During suspension period, officials will mark their attendance at main gate No 7 of Power House under Deputy Manager (Security). The officers will mark their attendance at the office of CEO CPGCL and all of them will be entitled for subsistence grant as admissible under the rules. The copies of this order has also been sent to 11 different higher authorities including Managing Director/CEO, GHCL, Islamabad.
