Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has achieved a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to protect public resources and uphold justice for rightful landowners.

The KMC said today that the judiciary has formally appreciated the role of the Project Director, Orangi Township Project, for his professional commitment in pursuing cases related to irregular land allotments and document forgery.

Over the past several months, KMC has initiated the cancellation of more than 500 irregularly allotted plots in Orangi Township. These plots had been allocated through fraudulent practices and illegal means over the years, depriving genuine landowners of their lawful rights. Through consistent follow-up, legal proceedings, and documentary evidence presented before various courts, KMC successfully processed the cancellation of such allotments, restoring justice to the affected parties.

During one of the key criminal cases involving forgery and manipulation of official land documents, the court took special note of the dedication and professionalism of the Project Director, Orangi Township Project. The court praised his consistent efforts in ensuring that the matter was pursued with diligence and transparency, ultimately leading to a fair and timely judgment in favor of the rightful owners.

Speaking on this development, a KMC spokesperson stated ‘This recognition by the judiciary is a testament to the reforms being undertaken within KMC under the vision of Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab. For decades, irregular allotments and land scams have eroded public trust in civic institutions. Today, through proactive measures, digitization of land records, and strict monitoring, KMC is working to eliminate corruption and restore fairness in the system.’

The spokesperson further added that the acknowledgment of the Project Director’s role demonstrates that KMC’s legal and administrative teams are not only safeguarding the city’s resources but also standing by the genuine citizens who have long awaited justice.

This initiative forms part of KMC’s broader strategy to bring transparency, accountability, and integrity in land management across Karachi. The successful cancellations of fraudulent allotments and the court’s recognition of KMC’s efforts mark a new beginning in ensuring that land rights are protected against exploitation and forgery.
