HYDERABAD:A local anticorruption court on Monday extended an interim bail to Sindh University Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Fateh Mohammad Burfat and 32 others for seven days in a graft case.

Sindh University VC Burfat, Registrar Amir Ali Abro and other accused appeared in the court. The court extended their interim bail to Nov 23, 20202.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Department has lodged a Rs738.593 million embezzlement case against SU VC Burfat, the university registrar and 66 others.

An inquiry against them was concluded in November 2018 and registration of the case was recommended by ACE deputy director Zamir Abbasi.
