An Islamabad sessions court has sustained the arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur related to a weapons and alcohol seizure case. Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti oversaw the Wednesday hearing, which was postponed due to a lawyers’ strike.
The tribunal confirmed the continued validity of the warrants for Gandapur’s detention. The matter is now scheduled for further proceedings on September 23.
The legal action against Gandapur originated at Bhara Kahu Police Station. The Islamabad sessions court initially issued the warrants on September 10, rejecting a request from Gandapur’s legal team to suspend them.
The magistrate ordered Gandapur’s arrest and presentation before the court by September 17 due to the chief minister’s absence at the previous hearing. These directives will remain in force until the next court date.
