Court orders postmortem of Aamir Liaquat’s body

Peshawar:A local court in Karachi on Saturday ordered for conducting the post-mortem of TV host and former PTI MNA Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s body.

Heirs of Aamir Liaquat had earlier maintained that they did not want to conduct a post-mortem of the body. Sitting at Karachi court (West) Judicial Magistrate Wazir Hussain Memon after listing both sides reserved his verdict earlier Saturday but later allowed Dr Aamir Liaquat’s post-mortem.

Government’s counsel informed the court that heirs did not want post-mortem be conducted but the judicial magistrate accepted the petition and gave verdict in favour of the petitioner. The counsel further informed the court that the heirs did not suspect any foul play.

According to the police, report police surgeon had stated that he could not say anything about the cause of the death until the dead body was examined from the inside. The application for Aamir Liaquat’s post-mortem was filed by citizen Abdul Ahad, praying that suspicions and doubts surrounded the death of the TV host which needed to be cleared.
