Crackdown in Quetta for violating price control laws, 22 arrested, illegal petrol pumps sealed

The Quetta district administration on Tuesday launched a major crackdown on violations of price control laws, resulting in the arrest of 22 individuals and the imprisonment of 13 for various regulatory breaches. During this extensive operation, several commercial centers, including illegal mini petrol pumps, were also shut down.

In a special operation against unsafe and illegal activities, authorities shut down five illegal mini petrol pumps and sealed an additional six shops. During the campaign, 40 kilograms of prohibited plastic bags were also confiscated from various shopkeepers.

During the operation, a total of 76 shops and markets across the city were inspected. Fines amounting to Rs. 50,000 were imposed on owners found violating local laws related to price control, encroachments, and the use of prohibited items.

These comprehensive actions were carried out in the Saryab, City, and Saddar subdivisions. These operations were personally supervised by Special Magistrates Izzatullah, Dr. Imran Zeb, and Haseeb Sardar to ensure strict enforcement of district regulations.
