Crackdown on Traffic Violations Continues on the Directive of Sindh Chief Minister

During the carckdown against traffic violations launched on April 9, 24,771 motorcycles were impounded for not wearing helmets and other traffic violations.

These figures were revealed during a presentation to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, here on Saturday. According to the report, actions were taken against various violations from April 9 to 26.

The Chief Minister was informed that the action was taken against 1,903 vehicles for using fancy number plates and tinted windows, while 406 heavy and light vehicles were seized for lawbreaking.

The traffic police recommended the cancellation of registration for 25 large and small vehicles due to lack of fitness. Furthermore, the temporary cancellation of registration for 380 vehicles was proposed.

The Chief Minister instructed the IG Police to show no leniency towards lawbreakers. He appealed to citizens to respect traffic laws to ensure their safety and that of others.

The report also highlighted irregularities by Qingqi and motorcycle rickshaw drivers. A total of 116 FIRs were filed for driving on prohibited roads, wrong driving, and other offenses, and 267 drivers were arrested.

Further action was taken against 27 vehicles for illegal installation of LPG and CNG, and a total of 3,804 fine tickets were issued.
