Police in Hyderabad today arrested four alleged dacoits, all reported injured, following four separate late-night encounters within the jurisdictions of various police stations. Authorities have confirmed that the arrested individuals are suspected members of organized criminal groups, against whom multiple cases are registered in various police stations across Sindh, while their accomplices managed to evade arrest during these operations.
According to a police spokesperson, the first encounter took place near Fateh Bagh, within the jurisdiction of Tando Yusuf Police Station. Officers signaled suspicious motorcyclists to stop, leading to an exchange of fire. Subsequently, Naeem alias Sohail, son of Variam Depar, a resident of Qambar Larkana, was arrested in an injured state, with a pistol recovered from his possession. His accomplice fled. The accused faces more than 23 cases.
The second incident occurred near St. Mary’s School under City Police Station, where an armed confrontation with suspects resulted in the arrest of Ali Muhammad, son of Qalandar Bakhsh Shaikh, from Shikarpur. He was found in an injured condition, and weapons were recovered. Ali Muhammad is involved in more than seven cases, while his accomplice escaped under the cover of darkness.
The third encounter took place during a patrol on Alam Nazar Jamshoro Road, within the jurisdiction of Bhittai Nagar Police Station. Suspicious motorcyclists opened fire when stopped. In response, Ghulam Sarwar, son of Jan Muhammad Mehar, a resident of Shikarpur, was arrested in an injured state. He was already wanted in connection with numerous cases, and an illegal pistol was recovered from his possession. The injured accused was shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad for medical aid.
The fourth encounter took place near the bund of Unit No. 10 Latifabad, within the jurisdiction of B-Section Police Station. Police confronted armed dacoits, resulting in the arrest of Jhandu, son of Hussain Kario, a resident of Kahndo, Matiari District, in an injured state. This suspect is involved in seven cases in Matiari, Sanghar, and Tando Allahyar districts.
Police authorities have confirmed that all arrested injured individuals have been shifted to the hospital for necessary medical aid. Furthermore, extensive search operations are ongoing at various locations to apprehend the fleeing accomplices. Legal proceedings and investigations into these incidents are underway.
