CRIME – Pakistan targets 7 TTP, ISKP hideouts in border operation

Pakistan has targeted seven terrorist camps and hideouts belonging to the Pakistani Taliban, Fitna al-Khawarij and its affiliates, and the Islamic State Khorasan Province in an intelligence-based operation carried out with utmost precision along the Pak-Afghan border area.

According to a report by MOIB today, the action followed recent suicide bombings in Pakistan, including attacks at an Imambargah in Islamabad, as well as in Bajaur and Bannu. Another attack also took place in Bannu during the holy month of Ramadan.

Pakistan has conclusive evidence that these terrorist acts were carried out by the Khawarij at the direction of their leadership and handlers based in Afghanistan.

Pakistan expects the interim Afghan government to fulfill its responsibilities and prevent the use of its territory by Kharijite elements and other terrorist groups against Pakistan.

Pakistan also expects the international community to play a positive and constructive role by urging the Taliban-led government to abide by its commitments and prevent the use of Afghan territory against other countries.
