NAUNDERO: Bhutto martyr’s hometown was again hit hard by three armed robbers here on Friday who looted a shopkeeper Saeed Kourejo of Rs230,000 and four valuable mobile phones early morning when he opened his shop as criminal activities have become very common. He was severely beaten by the criminals after locking the doors when he resisted the move and was bleeding.

Police after getting details of the crime went back as if they are paid for this job only and chasing the criminals and recovery of looted goods is not their fundamental job.

Enraged residents of Korejo community and the residents on hearing the crime blocked Larkana-Sukkur Highway and Naundero-Ratodero Road, burnt tyres and held a massive protest demonstration against police failure to curb crimes and criminal activities. Participants include among the shopkeeper Saeed Korejo, Hafiz Mushtaque Korejo, Riyaz Korejo and others who alleged that it seems that since past few days criminal gangs have made Naundero a target of their criminals activities as every day is passing with their crimes but police have done nothing to maintain law and order or to curb them.

They said that they are of the opinion that cops are not only aware of the criminal gangs but are their supporters but unable to take legal action against them due to political backing which is a barbaric and cruel system. They said doing business has now become a crime in Naundero. They demanded that cops posted at Naundero police station should be thrown out of Larkana district for their failure to maintain peace and FIRs should be registered against them.

After two hours of agitation, DSP Fida Langah reached the spot and held talks with the protesters, persuaded them and assured them to recover the burgled goods within 24 hours after which they called off their sit-in and dispersed peacefully. It must be mentioned here that police have also failed to recover robbed goods, gold, prize bonds, cash and other costly items of Dr. Saleem Shaikh and others.
