CTD arrest two terrorists, trained from RAW

MIRPUR KHAS: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two terrorists linked with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London group from Mirpur Khas area.

 

In his press conference, Civil Lines police station, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CTD, Umar Shahid said that CTD police raided in Mirpur Khas at night and arrested two wanted terrorists. The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Naeem Qaimkhani and Wajeehudin Mewati.

 

The CTD chief said that a large number of cache of arms, including, anti-aircraft guns, three rifles , pistols and hand grenade have been recovered from the accused during the raid.

 

DIG said that both party workers were sent to India for getting training from Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), an Indian intelligence agency, under the policy of party founder Altaf Hussain. He said that both party workers were in contact with party leader Wasay Jalil.

 

“The accused have revealed that Anees advocate and Wasay Jalil had introduced a system from 1998 to 2002 through which youth from different cities of Sindh were sent to India for getting training,” CTD chief said.

 

The DIG said that arrested accused Naeem has revealed that he met Aneed advocate in Tehran. “We had summoned and questioned Anees advocate, he will be summoned once again,” CTD chief said.

 

DIG said that Anees advocate has been prohibited from going abroad and his CNIC has been blocked. The charge-sheet will be filed after collecting further facts, he said.

 

He said Wasay Jalil lives in United States and we will write concerned authorities for his arrest. The DIG also said that Farooq Sattar will also be summoned for giving explanation on some questions.
