The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested an important operative of the banned Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) during an intelligence-based operation conducted on Wednesday, in Karachi’s Scheme 33.

The suspect, known as Sajjad Shar alias Babloo, son of Ghulam Abbas, was apprehended during a targeted raid and is believed to have received terrorist training from SRA’s central leadership.

The CTD disclosed that the suspect confessed to involvement in multiple bomb attacks targeting government property. He was allegedly tasked with distributing explosives and weapons among SRA cells and acted on direct orders from the SRA commander. Authorities also revealed that Babloo was planning future attacks using improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

During the operation, 30 rounds of pistol and six live grenades were recovered from the accused. A case has been registered against him at CTD Police Station under FIR No. 21/2025, Section 23(i) of the Sindh Arms Act, 2013.

The CTD emphasized that investigations are ongoing, and further arrests based on leads from this operation are anticipated.
