Customs Quetta seizes foreign goods worth Rs15 crore

SURAB: Customs Quetta claimed to have seized foreign goods worth Rs15 crore in two different operations with support of Frontier Corps (FC), Balochistan at Lakpass and Surab areas of the province on Tuesday.

According spokesman for Customs Quetta, staff of Customs Quetta and FC Balochistan foiled a smuggling bid by seizing Mob-oil, diesel, petrol, foreign clothes, betel nuts, spare parts, electronic items and two non-customs-paid vehicles at Lakpass and Surab check posts.

At Lakpass check post of Customs Quetta, 10,810 kilogram foreign clothes, 14,520 kilogram Betal nuts, 18,535 litre diesel, 365 tyres, spare parts, electronic equipments and two non-customs-paid vehicles were seized from a bus and Hino Bowser while 56,000 litre foreign diesel, 24,000 litre Mob-oil, 4,000 kilogram betel nuts, blankets and foreign cigarettes from two tankers.

Operation was conducted by a team of customs Quetta comprising Superintendent, Tariq Sultan, Inspector Jameel Kakar, Inspector, Gul Shair Zehri, Inspector, Ahmed Nawaz Zehri, Inspector, Yousaf Notezai, Inspector, Muhammad Hashim and Inspector, Shoukat Ali constituted by Collector Customs Quetta, Irfan Javed, Additional Collector, Yasir Wahab and Deputy Collector, Akbar Jan in compliance with the directives of Chief Collector Customs Balochistan, Gul Rehman.
