Customs seizes foreign goods worth Rs24 million

ZIARAT: Collectorate of Customs Balochistan claimed to have seized foreign gears worth Rs24 million in an operation conducted at Customs Check post, Ziarat cross in Balochistan province on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the media cell of Collectorate of Customs Balochistan, staff of Customs ceased foreign gears, including betel nuts, non-custom paid foreign clothes and other gears from a 10-wheeler-truck laden with coal in an operation conducted at customs check post Ziarat cross.

Smugglers intended to smuggle the seized items to Punjab, however, staff of Customs foiled the bid. The seized items were shifted to the customs house Collectorate of Customs, Quetta for taking further legal action. Operation was conducted by Superintendent, Saleem Agha and Incharge, customs check post, Ziarat cross, Ahmed Nawaz Zehri in compliance with the directives of Chief Collector, Collectorate of Customs Balochistan, Muhammad Sadiq and Collector (Preventive), Dr Fareed Salarzai.
