A new national poll by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan today revealed that an overwhelming 52% of recent online consumers in the country made their most recent purchase through Daraz, cementing its dominant position far ahead of any domestic or international competitors.
The findings highlight a significant gap between the leading platform and its rivals. In comparison, 16% of shoppers opted for a local online store, while global e-commerce giants held a much smaller footprint, with Amazon used by 5% and AliExpress by 3% of buyers. The survey noted that virtually no respondents (less than 1%) reported using Temu, while 20% utilized various other platforms.
The study presented a nationally representative sample of online shoppers with the question, ‘Please tell us which platform or website you used for this online purchase?’ The results underscore Daraz”s leadership in the local market, indicating that global marketplaces have yet to make substantial inroads into Pakistani online consumer habits.
Conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International, the research was carried out between November 17 and December 2, 2025. The poll included 961 respondents from both urban and rural areas across all four of the nation”s provinces.
The methodology for data collection was telephonic surveys (CATI). The Gilani Research Foundation, which released the study, estimates the margin of error to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at a 95% confidence level, ensuring a high degree of statistical reliability for the findings.
