Decision to Implement New Environmental Strategy for Clean and Green Sibi Campaign

A high-level meeting regarding the Clean and Green Sibi campaign was held on Tuesday, chaired by Commissioner Sibi Division Asadullah Faiz. In the meeting, a decision was made to implement a new environmental strategy for the Clean and Green Sibi campaign. Officials approved the implementation of a new environmental strategy focused on designated sites for waste disposal and planting native, drought-tolerant trees along major highways, as part of a comprehensive “Clean and Green Sibi” campaign.

During the meeting, a detailed review of measures for city cleanliness, increasing plantation, and improving the local environment was conducted.

Addressing a gathering of high officials including Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major (R) Ilyas Kibzai and Chairman District Council Sardarzada Mir Bejar Chakar Domki, Commissioner Faiz emphasized that the cleanliness of main highways and the establishment of a green environment are essential. He specifically directed the Agriculture and Forest Department to plant large and tall trees along all major roads of the city.

Citing successful plantation projects in arid foreign countries, the Commissioner highlighted the need to prioritize native plant species. He said that local flora is naturally capable of thriving on less water and withstanding the region’s heat, making such species ideal for this beautification initiative.

In addition to plantation efforts, the Commissioner also stressed the importance of effective waste management, ordering the designation of specific sites for garbage disposal to maintain the city’s aesthetic appeal and reduce environmental pollution.

Commissioner Faiz concluded by terming the campaign “a guarantee for a better future” rather than just a temporary drive, and appealed to every institution and citizen to actively participate in this collective effort. The meeting was also attended by Chairman Municipal Committee Sardar Muhammad Khan Khajjak, Vice Chairman Mir Dinar Khan Domki, and Assistant Commissioner Sibi Mansoor Ali Shah.
