Delay in road repairs, 7 people killed in accidents on National Highway

Prolonged delay in road repair work on the National Highway is being blamed for a series of fatal accidents in which seven people have lost their lives in just four days, including three brothers who were killed in the recent collision.

A terrible road accident occurred near Majeed Rajpar petrol pump on the National Highway on Thursday when a trailer hit a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of three brothers. According to the police, the deceased were identified as Jameel Lashari, Irshad Lashari, and Shakeel Lashari, residents of Karim Dad Lashari village.

After necessary procedures, the authorities handed over the bodies of the deceased to their families. Law enforcement agencies have taken the trailer into custody and have started investigating the circumstances of the fatal collision.

The departure of three funeral processions from a single house has cast a pall of gloom over the local community, creating a very sad and mournful atmosphere throughout the area.

This tragedy occurred just four days after a similar incident on the same road near Quetta Gulab Hotel. In that accident too, a trailer had crushed four members of the same family: 58-year-old Ms. Marvi, 24-year-old Ms. Sajida, 23-year-old Muhammad Irfan, and four-year-old Muhammad Madani.

Muhammad Saleem Mughal, Coordinator of the International Human Rights Observer in Naushahro Feroze, said that the slow pace of repair work on the highway is causing the routine loss of precious human lives. He appealed to the government and the National Highway Authority to take immediate notice of the perilous road situation.
