Diplomatic Envoys Present Credentials to President Zardari

Islamabad: Non-resident envoys from Angola, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Uruguay, and Malta have presented their diplomatic credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari. The ceremony took place in Islamabad, where the President received credentials from Ambassador-designates Julio Belarmino Gomes Maiato of Angola, Arthur Williams of Jamaica, Roland Reiland of Luxembourg, Beraldo Roque Nicola Flaniguen of Uruguay, and High Commissioner-designate Raymond Bondin of Malta.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari extended a welcome to the envoys and congratulated them on their new roles. He expressed optimism that they would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan, specifically in the areas of trade, economy, investment, culture, and people-to-people contacts.

Before presenting their credentials, the envoys were greeted with a guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr. This ceremonial gesture underscores the significance of diplomatic relations and the formalities involved in the accreditation of new envoys to Pakistan.
