Karachi, October 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for energy Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh said discussions and debate on Kalabagh Dam was useless now as Sindh has already rejected this plan. The country at present was facing acute water and power shortage and has attained an alarming stage. He said if news dams are to be constructed /built they should be done with the consensus of all the provinces.
He said this while speaking as a chief guest at a conference held at NED University of Engineering Karachi where a conference held on “water and alternate cleaning and. Imtiaz said there was no life without water and power. He said population of the country was increasing very rapidly and day was not far when these resources would be exhausted and life would be very difficult.
Minister said Sindh was playing its due role for power and alternate energy and this province has huge reserves for the alternate energy. He demanded from the government to provide Sindh its due share of water and such was step p unjustified with the people of Sindh. He said Sindh was already working on alternate energy plans as there was acute power and water shortage in the country.
