Dry Spell Continues with Scattered Thunderstorms Expected in Northern Regions

Continental air remains dominant over most parts of the country, leading to dry conditions and high temperatures across many areas. However, a trough of westerly wave is poised to influence the upper parts within the next 24 to 36 hours.

The weather forecast for Thursday indicates mainly dry and hot conditions in the plains. Meanwhile, isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and the Potohar region may experience cloudy weather accompanied by rain, wind, and thunderstorms.

During the past 24 hours, dry weather was prevalent, with the highest recorded temperatures reaching up to 42°C in locations such as Chhor and Tando Jam. Other regions like Hyderabad and Lasbella recorded temperatures around 41°C.

In Islamabad and its surroundings, there is a 40% probability of rain-wind/thunderstorms on Thursday. Balochistan is expected to maintain dry conditions, though gusty winds might occur in the southern districts. Punjab will also experience dry weather, with chances of gusty winds and thunderstorms in the upper districts including Murree and Rawalpindi.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain-wind/thunderstorms are anticipated in isolated areas such as Chitral and Swat, while the rest of the province remains dry. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are also likely to witness scattered thunderstorms, providing some respite from the prevailing dry spell.
