QUETTA: Balochistan Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani has declared an education emergency in Balochistan province to boost up education sector to a greater level.
Addressing heads mistresses of all girls’ schools in Quetta city today, she said: “We will not tolerate any compromise on children’s education. Whoever does not work should consider themselves unemployed. Those who do good work will be encouraged. Our future lies in an educated Balochistan, and we are with the students and teachers of Balochistan.”
The education minister said that all vacant positions would be filled on merit soon. Durrani further said that a transparent policy was being implemented regarding education in Balochistan. Now every school will open in the province, every child will be in school. The education department is working on the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Chief Minister Balochistan .
She said that for the first time in the province, model schools would be set up in all districts of the province, adding the education department would also set up a help line and complaint cell. Orders have been issued to the Secretary Education to start work on it soon, she added.
She said that it was regrettable to hear that even in the 21st century, some schools lack basic facilities such as gas, electricity, and clean drinking water. Durrani vowed to solve the water, gas, and electricity problems soon. The minister said that provincial ministers, members of the assembly, civil society, and officers will work together to improve the educational system to save the future of Balochistan.
