ECP urges citizens to get registered as voters before announcement of polls schedule

Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has advised citizens to get themselves enrolled or rectify errors in the provisional electoral rolls before the announcement of election schedule. In a statement, the Election Commission asked the public to register, transfer, delete or correct their vote in the electoral rolls prior to the issuance of schedule for by-elections for vacant seats of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the National Assembly.

It said the electoral rolls will be frozen immediately after the announcement of the election schedule. The Election Commission asked the citizens to ensure that their votes are registered at the permanent or existing address mentioned in the computerized national identity card. Citizens can confirm their voting details by sending their CNIC number via SMS on 8300, the ECP said.
