Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, on Tuesday said steps were being taken within available resources to cope up with the challenge of climate change.
These views were expressed by him while addressing ‘Climate Conference’ held under the auspices of FDI at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences-BUITEMS, Quetta. He said that Balochistan was having no role climate change factors yet climate change had affected the province. He said cutting trees is strictly prohibited, adding that those who violate could face penalties and legal consequences.
He said that challenges of climate change had been prioritised by the incumbent provincial government, adding that sustainable steps would be suggested under public private partnership venture to cope up with the challenges of climate change.
