Eight Apprehended in Capital Crackdown; Weapons and Illicit Liquor Seized

The Capiltal Police on Sunday claimed to have taken eight individuals into custody, seizing a cache of illegal firearms and liquor, during a widespread security operation across the federal capital.

According to a police report by Islamabad police office, the crackdown, initiated under directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, is part of an ongoing effort to combat crime and ensure the safety of citizens.

Police units from the Karachi Company, Kohsar, Tarnol, and Humak stations arrested five suspects, from whom they confiscated five pistols along with ammunition and 15 litres of liquor.

In a separate initiative targeting fugitives from justice, a special campaign resulted in the apprehension of three wanted persons, who were identified as proclaimed offenders and court absconders.

Formal cases have been registered against the accused individuals, and official investigations into the matters are proceeding.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the police force is fully committed to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He affirmed that protecting citizens is the department”s top priority and that no one would be permitted to disturb the peace of the city.

The SSP also issued a public appeal, encouraging citizens to report any suspicious activity to their nearest police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster cooperation that can help make the capital free of crime.
