Karachi, December 28, 2019 (PPI-OT): Former Professor of University of Karachi Professor Inam Bari who passed away on Friday night laid to rest at University’s graveyard on Saturday. He was suffering from renal disease for quite a long and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi. Scores of mourners including educationists, relatives and a large number of students of the late Professor attended the funeral prayer and burial. Professor Inam Bari was a former Professor of University of Karachi’s Mass Communication Department.
Besides, his splendid academic career, the late professor also served as Chairperson of Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Sindh’s Council of Complaints. Earlier in his professional career he also served in Radio Pakistan and as an Adviser to Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi on Information and Media. Expressing deep grief over the death and sympathy with the bereaved family, Sindh Minister for Information, Archives and Labour Saeed Ghani said that the late professor was honest and humble to the core.
Sindh Secretary Information Rasheed Ahmed Solangi in his statement said that his services in education and research as well as creating awareness among youth regarding the ethical journalism would long be remembered. While, Director Press Information Sindh, Zeenat Jahan, who was one of the many mourning students of the late Professor paid rich tribute to the late Professor Inam Bari. In her condolence message she said that the students of mass media had lost a caring, learned, creative and dedicated educator. She said that selfless, creative and innovative nature of late professor was a true inspiration for every student as well as professional of mass media.
