Epilepsy affected over 50 million people in world

QUETTA: Dr Muhammad Saleem Bareach, head of Neurology, Bolan Medical University has said that Epilepsy is a common brain condition that causes repeated seizures.

 

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Monday, he said if symptoms of Epilepsy occurred, it was absolutely essential to seek consultation from a doctor.

 

He added that Epilepsy had affected more than 50 million people across the world. He said that out of 100 persons, one person had contracted the said disease in Pakistan while ratio of the mentioned disease in Balochistan was three percent. He said that Epilepsy disease was curable provided that consultation of doctor was sought, adding that superstitions with regard to Epilepsy disease were required to be removed. On the occasion, Dr. Wazeer Akbar Khan, Dr. Anjum Farooq, Dr. Ahmed Wali and others were also present.
