ISLAMABAD: The European Parliament has underscored the need to scale up assistance for flood-hit people of Pakistan.
A debate was held in European Parliament’s plenary sessions in Strasbourg, regarding the humanitarian situation following the climate induced devastating floods.
The debate was aimed at discussing the European parliament response to the situation in Pakistan and how to mitigate the extreme weather consequences of the climate induced crisis. Several Members of the European parliament belonging to different political groups participated in the debate.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Pakistan, the Members of the European parliament underscored the need for support to Pakistan in view of the unprecedented scale of the disaster.
