Extensive tree plantation campaign launched under Green Pakistan Program in Azad Kashmir

A large-scale tree plantation campaign is underway across Azad Jammu and Kashmir under the Green Pakistan Program. Guided by the Ministry of Climate Change, the effort incorporates several themes, such as “One Daughter, One Tree,” “Daughters of the Soil – Iron Women,” and “Our Martyrs, Our Pride.” The project will continue until October 19.

The primary objective of this campaign is to involve all segments of society in the national duty of planting trees. Students, teachers, community groups, government institutions, armed forces, and people from all walks of life are participating in the plantation drive.

Thousands of saplings have been provided free of charge to the community in various districts of Azad Kashmir. Students from schools, colleges, and universities have enthusiastically planted saplings and committed to nurturing them. Community organizations and military personnel have also played a vital role in the success of this initiative through their enthusiastic participation.

Experts emphasize that the increasing impacts of climate change globally are severely affecting Pakistan, especially its mountainous regions. Floods and landslides have highlighted the crucial role of trees. Authorities say that widespread tree planting is essential to maintain ecological balance and reduce the intensity of environmental disasters.

Representatives of the Green Pakistan Program have appealed to the public to participate fully in the tree planting campaign to realize the dream of a green and safe Pakistan. They say that if every person takes responsibility for planting and protecting a tree, not only can environmental pollution be controlled, but a prosperous future can also be secured for future generations.
