FIA operation, counterfeit currency worth over 1.4 million rupees recovered, 2 suspects arrested

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has seized a large cache of counterfeit currency worth over 1.4 million rupees and arrested two individuals during a targeted operation in Peshawar.

The operation was carried out by the FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle in the city on Saturday, marking a significant step against the circulation of counterfeit legal tender.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Abdul Wahab and Saifullah. Both individuals were taken into custody on charges of smuggling counterfeit Pakistani currency.

According to the agency, counterfeit notes totaling 1,435,000 rupees were recovered from the suspects’ possession.
