Fire at Karachi’s New Vegetable Market brought under control

A fire that broke out at the New Vegetable Market has been successfully brought under control following a swift response from emergency services.

According to the Deputy Mayor’s office, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad took notice of the fire on Tuesday morning, on whose direction fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

In a statement, Mr. Murad confirmed that rescue workers had started arriving at the scene and firefighting efforts were “swiftly underway”.

The deputy mayor also reported that authorities have secured the affected area to handle the incident.

Assuring the public, Mr. Murad said, “The fire is under control, there is no need for concern.” He added that he was “in constant contact with the officials of the fire brigade and Rescue 1122” throughout the operation.
