On the third day of the ongoing anti-polio campaign in the district, Wednesday, the Elite Quick Response Force has been placed on high alert to deal with any potential threat under strict security measures for the protection of healthcare workers.
These extensive security arrangements, part of a detailed plan created under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Sameer Noor Channa, have been made to ensure the safe and uninterrupted work of immunization teams at both field and transit points.
Field monitoring is being conducted directly by Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) in their respective areas, to ensure that all vaccination teams operate under a police security cordon while performing their national duties.
SSP Dr. Sameer Noor Channa is personally monitoring the security operations in real-time. A dedicated control room has been established to ensure effective monitoring of the campaign and prompt exchange of information, allowing for continuous observation of the situation throughout the district.
Mirpurkhas police officials have reiterated their commitment to providing comprehensive protection to health workers and playing their part in the successful completion of the anti-polio campaign.
