The Meteorological Department has predicted today that most areas of the country will remain under the influence of hot and dry weather. The heatwave is expected to be severe, especially in the plains, affecting daily life and activities.
The Kashmir region and its adjoining hilly areas may get some relief as there are chances of rain with strong winds and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the temperature in the capital Islamabad and its surroundings will continue to rise, and no significant change in dry conditions is expected.
In the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and dry weather is also mostly expected. However, Swat, Kohistan, and adjoining areas may experience storms with rain and thunderstorms, providing temporary relief from the intense heat.
The situation in Punjab is similar to the national trend, where the plains are facing severe heat. Nonetheless, there is a likelihood of storms with rain and thunderstorms in some areas such as Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Sialkot, which may alleviate the harsh conditions.
In the Sindh region, hot and dry weather is forecasted to persist, while in Balochistan, dry conditions will also prevail, with extremely high temperatures expected in the central districts.
The weather in Kashmir is expected to be partly cloudy, with chances of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms at some places. Similarly, in Gilgit-Baltistan, dry weather is expected, although the partly cloudy skies will provide some relief from the intensity of the sun.
