Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Released After Detention in Gaza Flotilla

The release of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who was previously detained by the Israeli occupation forces, was announced today by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. He was detained along with other aid workers aboard the Global Samid flotilla.

In a post on X, Deputy Prime Minister Dar thanked the Hellenic authorities for facilitating the former lawmaker’s passage to Crete, Greece.

Deep appreciation was also extended to the leadership and government of Turkiye for aiding Mr. Khan”s return to Istanbul, from where he is expected to travel back to Pakistan.

Dar additionally reiterated Pakistan”s strong condemnation of the “illegal detention” of humanitarian workers on the flotilla, as well as the obstruction of humanitarian aid intended for the besieged population of Gaza.

He affirmed Pakistan”s enduring and unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
