The district administration has launched a fumigation campaign on an emergency basis to protect the public from the threat of Dengue and Malaria, it was stated in an official directive issued today.
The ten-day campaign, officially launched on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmed Kunrani, will cover the houses, streets, and neighborhoods of the district’s five major urban centers Ghotki, Ubauro, Mirpur Mathelo, Khan Garh, and Daharki.
The aim of the campaign is to effectively prevent mosquito breeding. To achieve this objective, teams will also use larvicide on potential breeding sites, including dirty and stagnant water pools, drains, and ponds in specific areas.
Deputy Commissioner Kunrani stated that despite limited resources, this extensive campaign has been launched with the joint collaboration of the Health and Municipal Departments.
A staff of approximately 600 personnel from the Revenue and Municipal Departments has been mobilized to carry out the door-to-door spray process. To ensure the effectiveness of the campaign, Assistant Commissioners, Mukhtiarkars, and officials of other relevant departments have been directed to closely monitor the ongoing activities.
