Law enforcement agencies on Saturday arrested a key operative of a dangerous dacoit gang involved in multiple armed robberies at homes and business centers.
SSP District East, Zubair Nazir Shaikh, has confirmed that the arrested accused has been identified as Sajjad son of Iqbal.
According to the SSP, the accused was involved in the armed robbery at the shop of a citizen named Iqbal in Mehmoodabad No. 5 on December 25, 2025.
The incident was captured on CCTV, and in the available footage, the accused can be clearly seen looting the shop at gunpoint.
After the incident, the police conducted a targeted operation near Manzoor Colony, resulting in the successful arrest of the accused.
According to police officials, an illegal pistol and bullets were recovered from Sajjad’s possession.
Authorities also recovered jewelry and a mobile phone snatched during the robbery.
SSP Shaikh revealed that the arrested accused is a habitual criminal against whom cases have already been registered in Darakhshan and Sahil police stations.
SSP Zubair Nazir Shaikh further said that a new case has been registered against the accused and a comprehensive investigation has been initiated.
